Rev Tom Stuart
Tom Stuart is the New Congregations Worker called to serve in the Mid-Lachlan Mission Area. Tom has specific responsibility to assist the present Uniting Contemporary Worship Group at Parkes and to support the development of new worship groups (or faith communities) at Forbes and Condobolin. There is a small group of Uniting Church folk already meeting together at Condobolin and Tom has responsibility to care and support that worship group also.
Tom is resident in Parkes having moved from Gloucester with his wife Kathy, and four children.
The task before Tom is to listen to the aspirations and desires of folk in the communities of Forbes, Parkes, and Condobolin, and assist to give expression to those aspirations within the understanding of the Christian faith. This demands of Tom, and all those with whom he works, the willingness to dream and to act on those dreams, bringing into being that which is not already present. There are no predetermined notions of what the future may bring save that it is the Spirit of God who calls each one of us forward to new ways of relating with God and each other.
